SEN. MAGNUS ABE ENDORSED FOR 2019 GUBER RACE BY PEOPLE OF RIVERS SOUTH-EAST SENATORIAL DISTRICT.

A COMMUNIQUE ISSUED AT THE END OF THE MEETING OF APC STAKEHOLDERS OF RIVERS SOUTH-EAST SENATORIAL DISTRICT HELD ON FRIDAY 8TH DECEMBER. 2017 AT THE GBENE-GINIWA HALL, SAAKPEWA, TAI LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA, RIVERS STATE
PREAMBLE
In a bid to demand for justice, equity and fair-play in Rivers South-East in particular and Rivers State in general, we the APC stakeholders in the zone comprising of (1)Khana (2) Gokana (3) Tai (4) Andoni (5) Eleme (6) Oyigbo (7) Opobo Nkoro Local Government Areas after an extensive and elaborate deliberation resolved as follows:
1. That the Rivers South-East remains the only senatorial District that has not produced Governor of Rivers State since its creation in 1967 over 50 years ago, taking into cognisance Chief Melford Okilo of Rivers West Axis now (Bayelsa State), Chief Rufus Ada George of Rivers East, Sir Dr. Peter Odili of Rivers West, Sir Celestine Omehia of Rivers East, Rt Hon Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi of Rivers East, and Chief Barr Ezebunwo Nyesom Wike of Rivers East.
2. That it is pertinent we demand, that the next Governor of Rivers State should come from the Rivers South-East Senatorial District for Equity, Justice and Fair play. We consequently demand that the governorship candidiate of our party (APC) for 2019 come from the Rivers South-East Senatorial one, while appealing to other senatorial zones and indeed Rivers people to support a Rivers Governor from the Rivers South-East Senatorial District which we believe is right, just, fair, equitable and in syncrony with inclusive democratic ethos.
Furthermore, politics being a game of numbers justifies this position as the Rivers South-East Senatorial axis is the largest voting block controlled by the APC in Rivers State. ‘’To Whom much is given, much is expected’’.
3. That in beaming our political search light for a credible experienced, competent, acceptable, tested and trusted occupant for the exalted office of Governor of Rivers State, we have found the most Distinguished Senator Magnus Ngei Abe, emminently qualified within our party to aspire, taking into cognizance his rich pedigree as:
i. Minority Leader, Rivers State House of Assembly (1999-2003).
ii. Commissioner of Information, Rivers State (2003-2007).
iii. Secretary to Rivers State Government (2007-2011)
iiii. Senator, Representing Rivers South-East Senatorial Zone (2011-2015)
v. Senator, Representing Rivers South-East Senatorial Zone (2016-Date)
In all of these Positions held by Distinguished Senator Magnus Ngei Abe, he achieved unimpeachable records of performance, which has attracted encomiums to him in the state, Nigeria and even in diaspora.
4. That we therefore call on the Most Distinguished Senator Magnus Ngei Abe to contest the Governorship primaries under the All Progressives Congress (APC), Rivers State for the 2019 Governorship elections
5. That we assure him (Senator Magnus Ngei Abe) and the All Progressives Congress in Rivers state of our commitment and dedication to this noble course, which we believe will bring the required change and development to Rivers State.
6. That we subscribe to internal democracy that promotes equity, which we will ultimately guarantee victory for our great party in Rivers State.
7. That we pledge our Loyalty, commitment and dedication to our great party the All Progressives Congress and the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Mohammadu Buhari, GCFR in his conscious and deliberate efforts in moving our nation forward.
This is signed by the following persons:
