That is what we advocate at Niger Delta Citizens Budget Network (NDCBN). NDCBN is composed of a network of Civil Society Organizations, individuals and experts working in the areas of good governance, open budget, transparency and accountability in States within the Niger Delta Region, known for their rich oil mineral deposits, environmental challenges and the resultant community conflicts. Good Governance is not rocket science: in a Federation, the State Governments are created to bring government particularly close to the PEOPLE. But sadly, this principle has failed in Rivers State. While the FEDERAL Government is working assiduously to develop the capacity of indigenous companies and increase the participation of Local Companies in Procurement and Services, the RIVERS STATE Gover nment is not interested in developing ANYTHING. In 2017, a staggering BUDGET of N470b was expended mostly on the so-called "projects" with zero development of Local Capacity or Technology, but we rather see a sitting Governor not known for INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT building a personal mansion that mocks the economic circumstances of the common-man, and inspecting the construction of a massive mall that is veiled in Private Investment. The administrative captivity of the RIVERS Man won't last beyond 2019, as we insist that Wike MUST Go. #DodMan #FRSM #FreeRivers
